Hello! I'm really sorry for the technical difficulties, but I got them all sorted out! So let's get started with today's review! If you think this book sounds interesting, you can purchase the book here!
Jason wakes up on a school bus sitting next to two kids, one who claims to be his friend, and the other his girlfriend. He has no memories. Jason and his new "friends" are students at a boarding school for "bad" kids. Jason can't help but wonder what he did to land here, and how he got here with no memories.
Piper's dad has been missing for three days. Piper has also been having vivid dreams about her father, and he is in terrible danger. Now her boyfriend doesn't recognize her, and then during the field trip, a freak windstorm brings strange creatures who whisk herself, Jason and Leo to a place called Camp Half-Blood.
Leo has always been great with tools. His cabin is filled with them, and best of all, he can use them to build weapons! The thing that concerns him though is the talk of curses, a missing camper, and the idea that everyone at camp is related to a god.
This book is kind of a sequel series to Percy Jackson and the Olympians. Same world, a lot of the same characters, this time though the series brings in more characters and conflict. I really liked this series. I have not read the last book, The Blood of Olympus, but I read all the others and found them very enjoyable. Rick Riordan weaves the characters together in a beautiful way that reflects what each character wants for themselves and for the team. Each character has their own unique past that adds complications to the story ( except for Jason; he has no memories for nine-tenths of the book).
Another thing that makes these books great is the theme of everyone is either half god or a satyr or something out of Greek mythology. The Greek monsters, titans or giants help keep the story moving by always being involved in a new scene that makes you keep turning pages! Rick Riordan really knows how to captivate an audience with suspense, action and excitement!
That sums up today's review and I hope you enjoyed it! If it sounds good, don't hesitate to buy it here, because it is a great read! I hope to see you on Wednesday for the Top Ten Most Unlikable Character post!
