In a small town in the Deep South is shocked when a black man is accused of raping a white girl. Atticus Finch is assigned to the case. This book is about his children Scout and Jem, who go on an incredible journey while the case goes through court. This book has humor, adventure, thrills and mischief!
I liked this book, but I didn't LOVE it. I thought it was pretty good, though. One thing though was that everyone always says how great and fantastic this book is, so I think my expectations were raised by all the praise. Another thing was that the first part of the book was about Boo Radley, and I really enjoyed reading about their adventures with Boo Radley, but then the book turns around and the only thing everyone was talking about was Tom Robinson.
The things that I did like was the writing style was very direct, clean and simply elegant. I also really enjoyed the characters. I really liked Scout and Atticus. Scout always made me laugh, and I loved how she despised dresses and loved her overalls. I also love how thoughtful and smart Atticus was, like how every night Scout would sit in Atticus's lap and read. The characters were so alive and interesting.
Overall, I really enjoyed the book! If you would like to read it, don't forget to go here for the book!
