Good morning! Today I am reviewing Drums of Autumn ( as you can see ), the fourth book in the Outlanders series!
Voyager left off when Claire and Jamie Fraser hit the mainland of Georgia: an enormous storm pushed their boat almost 600 miles north. Now Jamie and Claire have decided to make a homestead here. As Jamie and Claire set out on that journey, all the way into the twentieth century, Claire's daughter Brianna, with the help of her "friend" Roger, set out on a historical hunt for her parents. A shocking discovery pushes Brianna to go through the intimidating stones at Craig na Dun, to warn her mother and the father she has never met. But in Brianna's own adventure, an accident causes her to make an important decision: either go back to the twentieth century with it's luxuries, and most importantly, opportunities for Brianna, or stay with her family, where her heart and soul are, but risk being forever stranded in the past.
If I had to pick a favorite Outlander book, it would be the second one, Dragonfly in Amber, but Drums of Autumn was still a fantastic book! Really, it is hard to pick a second favorite, because all of the books I have read by Diana Gabaldon are incredible. I am actually reading the Fiery Cross right now and I am loving that one too! Gabaldon knows how to keep her stories original, which is something I really admire.
This book was really good too. Gabaldon always has the characters on an adventure or errand or something they need to do, which keeps the story moving. Another thing I really liked was when Brianna came through the stones and met up with her parents. I love when Brianna meets her father for the first time; neither of them know what to think of each other yet, but later in the book they have some pretty cool moments.
I hope you liked today's review! Don't miss Monday's post, a guest post with Emily from Luvlie Readings!
