Hey readers! Today I am reviewing Mockingjay by Suzanne Collins. Usually I start by reviewing the first book in the series, but I think this book would be more fun to review than the other ones. Also, the second part of the movie is coming out this November and the trailer came out pretty recently! Here is the link for those who want to see it! And if you are interested in reading the book, go here!
Katniss's home, District 12 has been burned to the ground. She and many survivors of the bombing have taken refuge in the secret District 13 where the District government plans to overthrow the Capitol. Katniss learns of carefully made plans that involve her, but she had no knowledge of the plans. To take control of the revolution and change the course of Panem Katniss must put aside her anger, fear and distrust of nearly everyone in District 13 and become the face of the rebellion.
This was not the best book in the series (that would be the first one) but it was still really good. One thing I found annoying was how unstable and hateful and careless Katniss was in the third book, although I think that is inevitable after two hunger games. But she becomes a great heroine while fighting in the war. Even though she is really only fighting for her family, she is very brave. She does not hesitate to do the right thing ( and by right thing, I mean the right thing to do in a fighting scenario) and she stands up against Snow and the Capitol.
Another thing I didn't like about the book ( this one is on the author) was that a lot of people died. I mean, I get that they're at war, but so many well-known characters were killed and I just found it unnecessary to kill off that many characters.
That's all I have on the subject for you. Don't forget to check out the awesome trailer here, or go here to get the book!
