Number 10: Edgar Allen Poe
Poe wrote a lot of horror poems and short stories that I liked especially in elementary school. The stories are intense, and kind of crazy but I loved the suspense!
Number 9: Nicolas Sparks
Spark's books are enjoyable and amazing. I'll admit, there are some of his books I couldn't get into, but the ones I can get into I always love them. Sparks is one of those authors that makes you go "Oh, that's Nicolas Sparks, I need to read it!"
Number 8: Marrissa Meyers
Meyers wrote The Lunar Chronicles, a YA series that was awesome! The Lunar Chronicles are futuristic fairy tales, and I have always had a weakness for twisted fairy tales.
Number 7: Trenton Lee Stewart
Stewart wrote a series for kids called The Mysterious Benedict Society. It is about four children who go on undercover missions to stop the villain. The books are clever, adventurous, funny and packed with action and mystery.
Number 6: Jules Verne
Verne has written a number of adventurous classics. They all are unique and interesting, wether you are journeying to the center of the earth or spending weeks in a hot air balloon, Verne's tales will not fail to entertain you!
Number 5: Dan Brown
Brown's books are always packed full of facts, puzzles and mysteries. Brown's books will always be the type that confuse you at first, before you learn something!
Number 4: Adriana Trigiani
The one book I have read by Trigiani was phenomenal. It was one of my favorite books ever! ( In fact, it is listed as number 1 in my Top Ten Books of 2014 post found in the March archives.) The way it was written alone could have made it in my top ten, but the story and characters themselves were fantastic and real and amazing!
Number 3: L. M. Montgomery
Montgomery wrote the Anne of Green Gables series, which are some of my favorite classics! Anne is such a character, with her imagination, smarts, daring bravery and a hint of a mischievous personality! I never grew tired of Anne and her "exploring"!
Number 2: Diana Gabaldon
Gabaldon wrote the Outlander series, which is officially my favorite series ever. I cannot get enough of the books or the TV show! I was never bored throughout any of the first three books ( which are the only ones I have read. I am about to start the fourth!)
Number 1: Sara Gruen
Gruen has written Water for Elephants and Ape House and I think there is another novel by her, but I don't know it's name. Water for Elephants was a fantastic book! I have also started Ape House on audio once, but found it harder to follow on audio so I have yet to read it, but from what I heard of the first two chapters, it will be another good one!
I hope you enjoyed this list of authors, and I also hope you like some of them as much as I do! I'll see you on Friday for a review of A Lucky Child!
