Hello everyone! I have been waiting to review this book ever since I finished it! I was sent the ARC of this book and I really enjoyed it! The book has been released and it is a must have for any spiritual library!
Margaret Bendet has a great life, but she feels like something is missing. Several friends have told her that an Indian swami is coming to visit for a couple of days on a tour. Spurred by curiosity and that gaping hole in her life, Margaret goes to visit the swami. What she discovers is something that she relates to and helps her become a more whole spiritual being. She decides to follow the swami on his tour and later accompany him to the ashram in India. At the ashram she faces infatuation and life-threatening anorexia. On her incredible journey across the world, she learns that everyone goes to the ashram to receive something, something they can eat along the way.
First off, this type of book is not the type of book I like to read. But I did enjoy it. The book wasn't all mushy-gushy spiritual happiness. Margaret had a good balance of her spiritual journey and her physical journey. I was surprised at how much I enjoyed this book. Margaret's writing style was very clear and easy to follow. She wrote with incredible detail. I know that if I wrote a memoir, I would always be forgetting things, but Margaret did a great job of including all kinds of detail that made the story fantastic!
Summary: I really liked this book even though I am not a fan of that particular genre. If you do enjoy spiritual reads, I highly recommend this book!
